View of the Roman hills and churches

Roman hills and churches

Enjoying the view on the thousand Roman beauties

Rome was a must on the way to the south of Italy even if it doesn’t fit in my description of “less known Italian heritage”.  I already shared how overwhelmed I felt about being here, where you could draw and paint every centimeter because everything is so beautiful. I feel like it would need a lifetime to capture the beauty of this city.

The good thing is that I found new sketcher friends today that joined me in my tour of Rome. I met in the morning with Joanna, an amazing Polish artist, and Dario,  sketcher and programmer, and we decided to start from the square in front of Altare della Patria. This is a view from near the Traiana Column and you can see the Church of the Saints Domenico and Sisto.

This view represents Rome for me: great views everywhere, as soon as you higher your eyes and your view.

In moments like this I realize how painting is definitely a way for me to relax and be present in the moment. It is a gift I received and that I enjoy every day more. I feel so happy and lucky and proud of myself to be able to do this trip and discover myself and get to know so many interesting people. This is another great thing about drawing. It allows you to meet people all over the world and share your creative views in such a positive and uncompromising way. I wish more and more people allow themselves to approach their creative side. I think there would be so much beauty in the world in this way.
