Walking along the shore while the storm is approaching
The blue and green waters of the Barcis Lake during the #italiagrandsketchingtour.
After the big rain on the road, I approached the Barcis Lake. It is a very famous tourist and trekking destination in the region because it is a great place for spending a day in nature. I have been here a couple of time but I never actually visited the town of Barcis, which is on the northern side.Â
Curiously enough, even if I have been here I never explored the history of the lake. It is in fact an artificial lake created in 1954 for the exploitation of hydroelectric energy. It is an important center for lake sports, such as windsurfing, sailing, motor boating, sport fishing, but of course no activities were taking place because of the weather.Â
The lake is also well known for its waters, tinted of a particular color between green and blue. It is an incredible view to paint, on which I would have spent gladly my afternoon. But huge, stormy, black clouds were approaching the lake, with some strong wind for company and I decided that running away from more rain could have been the safer choice. Well, I suppose it is a good excuse for going back
