Entering with style in the city heart
The ancient entrance gate to San Vito al Tagliamento is next painting in the #ItaliaGrandSketchingTour
I stopped here in San Vito without many expectations. I knew the city because my friend Alessandra is originally from here and I have always been curious. Unfortunately she was not here this weekend, it would have been nice to have such a passionate guide to show me the city. Anyway I was very surprised from how beautiful this town is. I wonder why I still feel surprised knowing how everything in Italy is so beautiful. I feel so lucky to live here!
Back to San Vito al Tagliamento! As the name said the city is near the river Tagliamento and it is an old town of Medieval time, and all the heart of the town shows the passing of time. The city center is enclosed by the towers and gates that were once the entrance of the city. I can imagine the charts of the the farmers come to town for the market time. This spot brings me back in time so easily.
In my morning here I sit in the cafe capture the typical autumn light: fresh and crisp. I finished this watercolor while having a great cappuccino. The colors were my interpretation of the feeling of lightness I’m experiencing right now. Alessandra told me that it looks like fireworks are flying over the gate. I think it transmit the excitement and expectation I feel at thinking at what the future holds.
