The church and the temple combined
The Church of Saint Mary of the Greeks in Agrigento captured during the #italiagrandsketchingtourÂ
This church is on the top of the list, together with the cathedral, of the things to see in Agrigento. It is a very small church, hidden in a side street, a sort of hidden treasure. I really enjoyed to visit this church. It is so full of history. Consider that the church is founded on a Greek temple, using the foundations and partially the walls and the column. Â In fact you can still see the remains underneath the church (on the left side).
I also particularly love remembering this day because I got to know the girl that works inside, an amazing person with which I connected deeply. I saw she was reading a book on Frida Kahlo and I started talking to her. It is incredible how easy it is to get to know people once you open up and you allow yourself to follow your curiosity and you let go of the fear of rejection. Sometimes I find it difficult to remember, but when I do it I realize how easy and fulfilling it is.
