On the top of the hill for a relaxing sketch of the church
The Church of San Giacomo in Polcenigo during the #italiagrandsketchingtour.
The first stop for the day is Polcenigo, another one in the list of the most beautiful towns in Italy and in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Another first for me and definitely not a last. The town is an amazing small village created around the river Livenza, between a valley and the hills.
After a coffee stop I decided to climb the hill to see the complex of the San Giacomo Church. I sat in the shadow in front of the church for this sketch that came out quite ok in my opinion. The only thing I realized is that I took for granted that the rose window would be round and I drew it without noticing that it was squared. It was interesting because I realized that even if drawing allows me to see details, sometimes I just go on auto-pilot and it is good to recognize it to pay more attention and be more on the flow next time. Drawing is such a great opportunity to learn about life, every time.
