Rooftops of the old town on the river
Verona and its cathedral from the Adige river during the #italiagrandsketchingtour.
Verona for me is a strange city. The beauty is everywhere and as a sketcher with only one day it feels almost overwhelming. There is the atmosphere that is alluring to capture but it is a real challenge.
The purpose of my trip is not to sketch the usual views and the known monuments and it can become hard to choose in a city like this.
After walking around the whole day, my last sketch of this visit is a view of the Duomo from the Adige River, to show the architecture of the old times.
Nestled between the houses the Cathedral is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I walked by it and it is so powerful in its simplicity, maybe next trip I will paint it too.
