The Fabbrica Alta in Schio

The watercolor was hand painted during the Italia Grand Sketching Tour, my motorcycle trip to discover the beauties of the Italian cultural and architectural heritage. This original watercolor will make your home unique. You will always have the emotion of an Italian glimpse within your reach, to experience the joy of travel at all times.

Visiting the province of Vicenza I decided to paint the Fabbrica Alta in Schio of the Rossi wool production. It is an industrial complex in the city center that Alessandro Rossi built in 1862 and represents one of the symbols of the first Italian industrialization. It is a place of great historical importance despite its current state of abandonment.

I wanted to capture it precisely because I believe that my art can help to remember and learn about an unprecedented history of Italy that is not always valued enough. What prompted me to paint this abandoned factory was the desire to tell an example of an economy built around the community that could be an example for the future.

This view couldn’t miss from those collected in my book “Italia Grand Sketching Tour“, second volume, available in Italian. The book is the collection of stories from my tour together with my watercolor and ink illustrations.

Materials and other information

The paining is created with professional artist grade watercolors on 300 gr watercolor paper. The painting is perfect for a living room or a bedroom, it comes unmounted and unframed. The quality of the materials ensure longevity, but artwork is best hung out of direct sunlight. The artwork is signed on the front and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Colors may vary slightly based on your monitor, though each picture is as accurate as possible. Paper is handcut and dimentions can vary slightly. The photos are indications of how the work can be displayed.

Orders are processed and shipped within 3-5 working days of receipt of payment, by courier. Shipping times vary between 72 hours and one week depending on the area (times can be extended outside of Europe due to custom). More information on tracking is sent by email following shipment. Orders are shipped to the shipping address indicated in the payment form. Return policies: the shipping is at the expense of the buyer. The refund is made upon receipt of the package.
